Amortline turns a list of prepayments, accruals and deferred-revenue invoices into month-end manual journals ready to import into Xero, a posting record so no month is posted twice, and an Excel and PDF working paper with the balances rolled forward. For bookkeepers, accounting practices and businesses that use Xero; it runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
One plan per practice or business, not per Xero organisation or user. Try it free with no account or sign-up.

Questions
What file do I need? Amortline’s own template (CSV or Excel), one row per bill or invoice: reference, type (prepayment, accrual or deferred revenue), amount, start and end dates, the profit and loss account and the balance sheet account. Paste it or upload it. Decimal-comma files (1.234,56) and total rows are detected; when Amortline cannot tell, it asks you.
How is each line spread? Straight line. Daily spreads by days in each month, so part months get their share of days. Equal monthly gives each month the same amount (a part month counts as a full month if it covers at least half of it). Monthly by days gives full months equal amounts and part months a share by days. Amounts are worked in pence and any rounding remainder goes to the last month, so the schedule always adds up to the invoice exactly.
What goes to Xero? A manual journal import CSV with one journal per month-end, dated the last day of the month, using your tax rate name (for example No VAT). Debits are positive and credits negative, and every journal must balance or Amortline refuses to make the file. Journals are in your base currency; a line in another currency needs its base-currency amount.
How does it stop double posting? Each run makes a posting record of the months posted per line. Mark the run as imported and Amortline saves the record with the client; next month it posts only the months not posted yet. If the lines no longer match the record, it asks you to confirm first.
What about cancellations or price changes? Put the change date and new amount on the line, or the cancellation date with Refund or Release (an accrual just stops), and the remaining balance is re-spread or closed in that month.
Is it connected to Xero? No. Amortline is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by Xero. You import the journal file into Xero yourself (Reporting › All reports › Journal Report › Go to manual journals › Import), where the journals arrive as drafts for you to check and post.
How do I cancel? Use the link in your Paddle receipt email, or email us and we will cancel for you. See Terms.
